Light in the darkness

"You, O Lord, are my lamp; my God you make my darkness bright." Ps 18:29
Father, in these dark days, may Your lamp shine brightly as President-Elect Obama continues to face the sobering challenges of our country.

Refreshment

Father, I pray for President-Elect Obama during this time of transition, that he may make the time to relax in the midst of all he has to do. May he be refreshed from the rigors of campaigning and from the stress of making plans for the future. May the time he spends with his wife and children and friends encourage him and support him and enrich him, to prepare him for the days to come.

In the light of Your presence

"Happy are those who hear the joyful call to worship,
For they will walk in the light of your presence, Lord.
They rejoice all day long in your wonderful reputation.
They exult in your righteousness.
You are their glorious strength.
It pleases you to make us strong." Ps 89:15-17

Father, help President-elect Obama take the time in the midst of his busy days to hear Your joyful call to worship. May he walk in the light of Your presence. May You make him strong for Your glory. Amen
